It was to match the McIntosh dresser

Vintage Map Dresser

This was how it came to us.  

It was looking very sad and unloved .

Sooooo......

We worked a little magic on it

Found a wonderful vintage map of the west coast of Scotland. 

We aged it as it was looking a bit pale! (the map ,that is!)

Kept the original handles as I quite liked them, had that oldie look to them!

 And here we have it!

 Taa daaa!

The Laurie Rose Dresser!

When I first saw this piece, I fell in love with it!

So much potential......so much work to do on it!

But that didn't stop us...made me want to do it even more!
Then Laurie Rose saw it, she too fell in love with it!
This is the design she chose

On the drawer fronts
Lined the inside with damask
 Love the handles!

Inside the dresser should be as pretty as the outside!

Loving an old dining table and chairs

So so much to catch up on here!
I'll start with this beautiful dining table and chairs


The Finished Set

We went looking for an old circular table which would extend and some chairs.

This is what we found!

And.....it extends!!

Perfect for the job!

Great centre pedestal

Solid!

And matching chairs!


Some preparation needed

And the best bit....

The paint!

Its that first brush on that takes your breath away, the ooo and aaaaaa!

 Beautiful fabric to upholster the seat pads on the dining chairs

Very pretty and shabby chic
